week 30 (2/6/25) - (6/6/25)
I have completed most of my final garment in half term
but I still have a few things to do which includes sewing the label in, which I
will only do on the dress because otherwise it will get in the way of the
design if it is on the other pieces, and hand sewing part of my lining to keep
it down. However, I did not do this during the lesson on Monday, instead I
helped Harriet with her panels on her bodice to help her out as she was feeling
stressed. this took up all lesson since I had sewn it wrong so one of the sides
was facing the wrong way, other than this I felt alright with how far I got.
At home, I completed my groups fashion film by editing the
rest of the film, I will talk to the rest of the group about how they feel it
looks but I think I did a good job with what we have.
Stretch consisted of creating concept ideas for the mural idea that we must create. I think I was able to take inspiration from my visual mind map to create interesting concepts that express calmness which was my focus for this project.
Sam's lesson was also a class of helping Harriet out after i sewed my label and hand stitched my lining, and I
managed to finish both panels with only the need to add bias binding to one of
the panels. Harriet decided during this lesson that instead of doing four
panels she would do two because otherwise it would overwhelm the garment, so I
finished most of it. The reason I didn't add the bias binding was because it
was so thick, I need to use clips instead of pins and they are at home. With
the remaining time I started on my photo sculptures and managed to get them
roughly cut out before the end of the lesson.
In CAD with Charlie, I fixed all my photos on my look book
because they were pixelated and then spent the lesson getting all my research
collected ready for me to hand in my assignment. This wasn't stressful but I
was a bit confused at some points like when one of my pictures appeared
pixelated even after I fixed it, only to realise it wasn't but it was the
computer not processing it when I went to view mode on InDesign.
At home, i completed all the annotations for my photography and evaluated my fashion film.
On Wednesday, I was going to quickly finish the panel for Harriet, but the panel was so thick with the bias binding that I had to resort to hand sewing it after talking to Harriet about it. It was a tedious task, and the stitches aren't all even, but I did what I could with what time I had, getting better as time went on. This took me all the Lesson with Lareen and most of tutorials, but I managed to finish it and hand it over to Harriet ready for her to finish the garment at home. Other than this I stayed a bit after class to catch up with my blogs.
